Finally – a Launch I can Recommend

2

These days, my emails bring me waves – floods – of launch announcements. And they all seem to come with free (but long and time-gobbling) videos, fortified by earth-shaking (cleverly retitled but same-ol’-same-ol’) systems.

In a recent one-week period, I received invitations to watch free videos totaling nearly 18 hours. That’s insane. And that’s when I said “enough!” No more damn videos already (long ago I stopped mentioning any of them here).

Then today – a pleasant surprise.

I heard of a nice, simple launch that didn’t offer a single video. And it’s not going to tell me how to kill my competitors, steal all their customers, nor assassinate the search engines. No fostering of my (already testy) insecurities, no taunting me with pictures of pricey autos, uselessly huge mansions, or faked-up screen shots of astronomical sales at Clickbank. And no attempts to cynically pump up my desperation through artificial scarcity.

Just a straightforward (and believable) offer… elegantly simple. A new website that offers how-to for positive living. The host of that website? My long time friend Susan Minarik. Well of course…  she would do things in an elegant and sensible way. Here’s what she wrote about her new site:

If you have read my “about” page, you know that I began this first blog (www.HighonHappiness.com) by asking myself the question, “Why am I so happy now?” Since then, I’ve been sharing all kinds of things about happiness—what it feels like, stories that illustrate it, some advice to point you in its direction, the views of life that being in a state of happiness have brought me.

But for quite some time now, I’ve wanted to do more.

I want to share with you the “how to” of happiness, to provide you with solid, practical things you can do to discover more happiness in your life.

To get in on the very beginning, just go to Positive-Living-Now and sign up for the updates. I’m putting the finishing touches on a survey you can take to help me tailor-make the site for you. And I have a thank-you present I’ll send you, too, that needs just a tad more attention. So get your name on my list and watch your email. The orchestra is warming up in the pit, the house lights are beginning to dim, and before the month is out, the curtain will rise.

I’d love to know that you’re in the front row when it does.

So I’d like to share Susan’s offer with you, too. Go and sign up. That’ll put you front row center when the show starts. (Naturally, if it’s not quite a fit for you, there’s an unsubscribe link in every email.) But I expect you’ll find something of real value there. After all, how often do you receive a launch announcement from a sensible person, without all the long, rambling, time-wasting videos and the desperate, scream-y, spittle-spewing mania?

Just quiet, dignified good sense. Positive-Living-Now.com

  1. Susan says:

Well, THANKS, Charles! (She says, slightly blushing.)

C’mon over, folks. Nothing to lose, and plenty of well-researched life-enhancement strategies to gain!

There’s only one other newsletter that I’ve read faithfully for as long as I’ve been reading you… that’s almost 10 years now! In fact, I think one of you recommended the other – I’m not sure which one of you was the chicken and who was the egg. :)

The thing is, the other fellow includes a pitch or two in EVERY newsletter. While I enjoy his content, I must confess that it does get tiring to be ‘approached’ on every read. Yes, I totally understand that this is his chosen monetization model. Like watch commercial television, I’ve learned how to tune out the commercials and cut right to the stuff I want. Sort of reminds me of the story of the boy who cries, “WOLF!” You may get my attention the first time or two, but how quickly I learn to ignore the calls.

So when I read YOUR occasional recommend, I pay attention. I’m thinking, “This must be SOMETHING for Charles to give it a mention.”

A couple of weeks ago, you introduced us to Susan’s ‘High on Happiness’ material. Now there’s something we all can use more of every day. If her ‘Positive Living Now’ is even a fraction as good, it would still be worth signing up. Susan’s standard of quality is THAT high!

Charles, I guess that’s why I’ve been hanging around for all these years. You are a trusted mentor and friend.

    All the best from Toronto,
    Russ

Russ, thanks for the ratification. You know, when we do find something (or someone) that’s a good cut above the average stuff floating past, bystanders are tempted to think we’ve turned into some kind of ‘true believers’ or rabid converts. But it’s just so great to find something of real quality with no BS mixed in.

All I can say to everybody is, just go check it out. If it’s a fit, you’ll know it. And if it’s not, nothing Russ or I say will MAKE it fit.
